“The assumption that spending more of the taxpayer's money will make things better has survived all kinds of evidence that it has made things worse. The black family- which survived slavery, discrimination, poverty, wars and depressions- began to come apart as the federal government moved in with its well-financed programs to "help."”

My mom sent me an email today...she always tells me that God loves those who suffer the most. The ones who have the hardest times. The ones who have to work harder than everyone else and don't have it easy. God loves them most.

Two traveling angels

Keep reading to the bottom of the page -- don't stop at the feet (You'll see).

Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement.

As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, 'Things aren't always what they seem.'

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the
couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest.

When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears.Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen?

The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused.

The second family had little but was willingto share everything, and you let the cow die.

'Things aren't always what they seem,' the older angel replied.

When we stayed in the basement of the mansion , I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it.'

'Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem.'

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should.. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcomeis always to your advantage. You just might not know it until sometime later...

Oh, tie me to the end of a kite
So I can go on, I can go on with my life
Every marigold I pass below will be my guiding light
I just want to go away from here

Oh, tie me to the end of a kite
So I can go on, I can go on with my life
Every time the wind blows stronger,
I will feel my spirit rise
I just want to go away from here

Oh, tie me up tightly by your side
So I may go with you where ever you reside
And anytime the road looks dimmer
I will be your guiding light
I just want to go away with you
I just want to go away with you

1. The weather makes me unhappy. I hate rain.
2. Just because you don't study or care about school doesn't mean I don't.
3. It's not spring break. Stop acting like it is.
4. Turning on Christmas lights in March and keeping your laptop on ALL the time does not make you environmentally friendly. Or even environmentally conscious for that matter.
5. I'm completely unmotivated to do anything school-related. But I wrote part of my paper and went to MCAT class and attempted to study which was interrupted by loud people.
6. I dislike realtors. Especially those who don't call to let you know they will be walking through your apartment, much less with wet, rain-encrusted shoes.
7. I like Pilot EasyTouch pens.
8. I don't like that no one is coming to my ceremony nor cares.
9. I have headaches everyday. My neck hurts everyday. I blame my pillow.
10. Why do we have three empty wine bottles in our kitchen? If they're empty throw them away. It doesn't make you cool.

This scene wasn't in Eternal Sunshine was it? I don't remember it but it's really cute. I love Kate Winslet.

Not having access to facebook is making communication very difficult. I talked with a friend who is getting married this summer about doing her wedding photos but since I deleted facebook and don't have her phone number, I have no idea what's going on. I'm probably losing the gig is what's going on. Bah. Humbug.

No one is coming for the Honors Day ceremony. Isn't that funny? I think it is. So I'm going with Melissa just to pick up cords then to her engineering lunch. I'm not even an engineer but she said all I have to do is listen to some people talk and I get free lunch. Why not.

Maggie and I are signing the lease for our condo for next year tomorrow. Finally - I'm SO looking forward to moving out of here. Some people came by this afternoon to look at our place and were gross and sweaty and smelly and walked all over with their shoes. It rained today. Rain = wet shoes = wet, smelly, dirty carpet. Seriously?

I'll end with a quote I found yesterday: "You get a little moody sometimes but I think that's because you like to read. People that like to read are always a little fucked up." -Pat Conroy

Like I said...

"It seems to implicate people who are engaging in First Amendment protected activities and suggest that something as innocuous as supporting a political candidate for office would mean that you're harboring some ill-intent" [Link]

"[The report] described me, so maybe I need to get a gun and build a shack out in the woods...It's certainly an attempt to stifle political thought, especially in Missouri. It definitely makes me pause, if nothing else. Maybe Missouri is just a test bed for squelching political thought." [Link]

So am I on that list I wonder...So fucking ridiculous...

Once upon a time, Blockbuster decided to shelve the movie Labyrinth in the kids section. One day, we watched it and despite being 20 years old, I got scared (I mean, really, who isn't scared of hairsprayed-tights-and-makeup-clad David Bowie?). Today on WhoWhatWearDaily, the editors are channeling the fashion in Labyrinth. WHAT?!
